Google just released updated version of SEO guideline

It means that, google pays attention to the web users! Basically, they want the users to be honest about their content. So, it is pretty straight forward, isn't it? What about canned contents/ ready mix contents?

In general, google follows a very strict guideline, which makes a lot of sense when governing billions of website. Simpler but stricter rules always work on big mass of websites.

Title They emphasizes on importance of title and its content relevancy. Keep it brief, keep it descriptive. It also makes sense when they ask for different title tag for each page. If your page is not unique enough, they might consider your pages are spam.

Description Meta tag Everybody thinks description meta tags are no longer important. EEEEEEEEEEE! guess again, IT IS still relevant. Google might or might not use the description meta tags as the summary snippets. What it does is, when you have a great summary written up, when users type in like "rarest baseball card", while you have a page somewhere mentioned "top ten rarest baseball card collection", your deep page might be pulled! So, it's like going to vegas, you might or might not win the blackjack table, but if you are there, you at least have a chance of winning!

URL Setup I believe KISS(Keep it Simple Stupid) is the best way to describe how it truely works. The easiest way to setup a website is through a CMS. Whether if your site is Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, or any other CMS, most likely your site already has a built in plugin to do clean url(drupal) or permalink(wordpress), this allows to rewrite whatever default url generated by your cms.

A typical url generated by wordpress would be something like "http://www.brandonsbaseballcards.com/article/102125/" or"http://www. brandonsbaseballcards.com/node/15421" for drupal. This doesnt really help the users nor search engine to decipher what the page is all about in a glance.
